The Team

cURTIS HOGARTH

Owner/Filmmaker/Editor

I am Curtis, 27 years old, based in the centre of the historic city, York. I was brought up in a tiny village along the River Humber that nobody knows about. My entire family is from Yorkshire, so it only felt natural to head back there and rekindle with my heritage.

I am the sole owner of Freyja Wedding Films as well as a freelance filmmaker and cinematographer. Why the name Freyja Wedding Films? Well… I have an unhealthy obsession with Nordic mythology, and Freyja is the Norse goddess most associated with love and beauty.

Outside of my Nordic obsession, I have an unbridled love for cinema. I’m also a bit of a purist at heart, owning multiple real, true film cameras at both 8mm & 16mm and an old 1961 Bell & Howell 8mm projector (thank you Grandad).

I have been filming weddings since 2018 and since then had the chance and pleasure to film at some of the most incredible locations across the UK. I’m yet to have the chance to film overseas, but it is an opportunity I would jump at at the drop of a hat.

Over the years, I have honed in my style to be one of elegance and authenticity inspired by my love of classic cinema. My aim is to always deliver the same nostalgic and warm feeling that classic cinema is known for, but with a modern element.

When I’m not filming weddings, I’m shooting short films and music videos (you can see some of my short films and music videos here).

Connor Francis

Filmmaker/Cinematographer/Editor

Connor is a primary filmmaker for Freyja Wedding Films as part of the team. He is a highly skilled camera operator and cinematographer having previously worked for a big production company filming MMA events. He has also worked with Curtis on short films as Curtis’ cinematographer.

This has given him an acute attention for detail when it comes to image composition. He always looks laid back, but he is most certainly always analysing a location and thinking of what best way to shoot.

jayde victoria

Filmmaker/Photographer

Jayde is a filmmaker for Freyja Wedding Films alongside running her own photography company. Jayde and Curtis have worked together since 2018. With this comes an unwritten form of communication consisting of head nobs, shoulder nudges and the odd eye wink. She has an unrivalled sight for details placed around your day.

Jayde is also a talented stills photographer. You can see her stills photography profile here.

Curtis also likes to dabble in making short films & music videos under his company name Hogarth Films. The music video Tomorrow Will Be A Better Day for acknowledged musician Sior Boyesen got awarded at multiple film festivals.
